2011: Very enthusiastically, he harvested his first red tomato today - quarter size.  He only has to wait for the cukes, radishes, onions, celery, basil and parsley to catch up to make his first tomato salad and justify going back to Buono's bakery for his daily loaf of bread 🙂

2013: I had a two week long initiation by fire.  Produced quickly, provided quality and received praise.  I love the challenging projects.  I do wish I had my favorite “art guy” on this project with me, though… graphics are not high on my skills list and he performs as I do.  I’m putting that thought out into the universe now, just in case I can make it happen.

2016: Okay now... let's see if my pretty painted nails make it through a rainy day of cooking.  Not only do I do a lot of slicing and dicing, but, I wash all my dishes by hand.  Thumb nail already showing signs of wear and tear.  And I haven't started messing with lemons yet.

2016: Butter makes everything better (usually).  There are just so many better ingredients to work with.  Today was a good day to cook.  Cold out there...

2016: Today was a day for cooking.  And my nails and polish are intact.

I needed some veggies for dinner so I made this Szechuan three happiness (chicken, beef, shrimp) concoction with mushrooms, peppers, onions, scallions, peapods, water chestnuts and peanuts.  Lots of spicy sauce so It'll freeze well if I don't deliver it somewhere.  My sister would be all over me for some of this 🙂

2017: I admit that I didn't totally apply myself to the JavaScript sessions because I decided early on to take the sessions again when I have less on my plate.

That being said, when a friend posted this code I got it immediately (not too hard to guess) and thought that an "infinite loop" should be added...

2018: I'm not going to close the windows or put on the heat but I did just take out my winter bathrobe again. #chilly

2018: Order of Operations.  I'm not always sure how to write the equation.  Did I get this one right?

(300 units * 100 days) * $500 per day * 10 years = $150,000,000. That's $150 million, right? (Note To Self:  This was in reference to the hot water tank moratorium at bonnet shores)

2018: It took me a couple years but I finally migrated all my clients websites to custom wordpress.  Such a better product and most don't even realize how advanced it is since those old HTML/CSS sites were in fashion - or even those other second rate applications some use.

I was working on an expiration deadline.  I beat the deadline.  I'm happy about that.  I'm happy I don't have to login to any old fashioned sites to update.  Very productive day doing what was right for a client.  I earned my dinner.  Wish I had some wine.

2018: The falcon banner is back up at Cranston West High... gifted by Jerry's class of '63.  If I had my devious little way, the chairs would be inscribed with the prayer banner verbiage.  But it's not... or is it? <wink>

2019: I'm not usually a meme sharer, but, I kind of like this one 🙂  Filters wear thin with age.

2019: No.  I work online. Social media is part of my life.  My last dude didn't know 1/2 of what was going on in my life because his technical skills were limited to dictating emails through me.  Conversing with friends on social media got me through the most difficult times of my life.

2019: I think she'd melt your heart and you would understand why she has me wrapped around her fingers.  I had a lot of work to be done upstairs today so I didn't see her much.

But, when I went down mid afternoon, the girl told me she hadn't eaten very much.  So I asked her if she was hungry.  She put this sly look on her face and asked "why are you cooking?".  I told her I would and what did she want.  She replied that anything I made was good.  Talk about having a personal chef that understands your taste.

Ham, melted Swiss, tomato and mayo on an everything bagel with a side salad happened in no time.  She ate well.

I did some errands and had to get back to work.  When I just went down to check on her, as she does often, she opened her eyes wide and said, "I WAS JUST WONDERING WHERE YOU WERE".  <3

I explained that I had a lot of work to do today but if she wanted, I could make her a treat.  The twinkle she gets in her eyes when I play house with her is priceless.

I'm back upstairs now because I have work to do but both of them are downstairs devouring hot fudge banana sundaes with nuts and whipped cream.

I have no regrets about meeting this woman or spending the time and money to get to know her.  I want one of me if I get to be her age....

2019. This Is Hazels House. Not Yours.

I ripped this note off the bathroom door in her house.  It took a lot of paint down with it because it was glued.  That irritates me.  It's not my house, it's not the caregivers house, it's Hazels house.

And I know full well that if she saw it she would pitch a fit.  My Mom would, too.  I do.  And if she saw sheets nailed into her drywall, same feeling.

If you want me to dim the bathroom light, learn to communicate with me in English.  I am a geek... I have google translate and you can even read this message in Spanish on my website.

Stop playing with me and stop acting like a child.  In the USA, we don't beat our children into submission as I've seen you do.  The doorbell chimes around here get activated with loud screams and your the only one that does that.

And hearing you laugh after you cause destruction makes me very angry.  You're not the Christian you pose to be.  And I am on to you.

2019: The great things about Mullen friends are some have been around for a decade or two, and others have been around since we were kids.  So many from every group can make me laugh when I'm not feeling it.  We're all sweet... but, not all of the time.  We've always had the most fun between ourselves.

I sent this picture to the 8th Mullen the other day and said, "is it my imagination, or do we have a story?"  "We have a story" is all she had to say to leave me in stitches for a day or two.

2019:  The Rebuilding Chapters. The Way The Signs Work.

Do you know that the dead introduced me to those that are living?  That is powerful stuff.  From 2019:

"I had a sad night when I was remembering my brother Michael due to his upcoming birthday.  A couple other things happened at the same time that ruffled my feathers even more than they already were.  I'm only human and although I am usually really good with thinking and making quick, sound decisions on my feet, even the best of us sometimes wonder if past decisions or even current circumstances indicate if we are on the right path.  My life is unpredictable at best.

That all being said, I mentioned that I woke to signs.  A few undeniable signs that made me know for sure that many of the split second decisions that I've made in the past were right on target with whatever plan God has in store for me.  The first sign came in the form of a video done by WJAR Channel 10.  It was about a couple friends of mine that Janie introduced me to after she had already passed.

I was reading an online article about this couple (Peter and Cheryl) who had recently lost their son.  I loved the charitable efforts they were accomplishing to memorialize their son.  I looked for their website to learn more and found they didn't have one.  When I looked to the right of my laptop, there was a "do a random act of kindness and pay it forward" card with my sisters photo on it.  I didn't have to wait even a second before I purchased this couple a website and began collecting articles and building it.

They were strangers to me at that time.  The site was already built and ready to accept donations by the time I got around to introducing myself and telling them that "my sister made me do it".

We're all friends now... years later.  And when I woke to see this video on the news and understood that Janie and I played a little, tiny role in their massive charitable efforts - it's a sign.  A real good sign.  I'm part of a good village.  Made me cry/smile.

But, the strong signs didn't end there.  I'll tell you more when I can.  But, take a moment to meet some of the heavenly and earthly Angels I have been meeting along the way.  We're all blessed."

2019: "You may have no indication of how things will ultimately pan out, but all of this is perfect. At the moment it’s your job to remember that the deeper we go the darker it gets, and the brighter our light shines."  Copyright - Cal Garrison: 2019: ©

2019. You’ve Got Me Whipped, Hazel.

I think she'd melt your heart and you would understand why she has me wrapped around her fingers. I had a lot of work to be done upstairs today so I didn't see her much.
